Astana Open Dialogue presents the results of the expert survey “The Conflict in the Middle East and Its Impact on Kazakhstan: Risks, Implications, and Strategic Responses”.
The analytical report examines the current foreign policy, economic, and information-related risks associated with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The report is based on the findings of a closed expert survey conducted between 4 and 16 May 2026, involving 92 experts.
The report provides assessments of the conflict’s impact on the international environment and on Kazakhstan, including its potential economic, geopolitical, social, and informational implications. It also outlines the most likely and highest-risk scenarios for future developments. Special attention is given to Kazakhstan’s strategic priorities, including maintaining a balanced foreign policy, strengthening economic resilience, developing alternative logistics and transport routes, and enhancing the resilience of the national information environment.
