Aigerim Smagulova, International Cooperation Coordinator at Astana Open Dialogue, has become a winner of the international ISIA Strategic Horizons: Italy–Asia Research Award competition organized by the Italian analytical center Istituto Italiano per l’Asia (ISIA).
The competition was held by ISIA as part of an initiative aimed at supporting outstanding research works dedicated to international relations between Italy and Central Asian countries. The project is focused on fostering academic cooperation and analyzing key areas of interaction, including energy, technology, and artificial intelligence.
Astana Open Dialogue congratulates Aigerim Smagulova on her achievement. The ISIA organizers highlighted the high academic quality, originality of approach, and strategic relevance of the research project.
Aigerim Smagulova’s research focused on the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Italy in the fields of energy, artificial intelligence, and technology, as well as issues related to digital transformation and technological partnership.
Aigerim holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences with a specialization in Political Science. As part of her work at Astana Open Dialogue, she contributes to the preparation of analytical materials, the development of international expert cooperation, and the implementation of initiatives aimed at strengthening dialogue between Kazakhstan and international partners.
