A meeting took place in Astana between the representatives of the French Embassy, Marie Paret and Thomas Nadjar, and the co-founders of Astana Open Dialogue, Alexandr Danilov and Aibek Kumysbekov.
During the conversation, the activities of Astana Open Dialogue were presented, as well as plans for holding the next session of the Platform. In addition, plans for expanding the range of analytical services were presented.
The parties extensively discussed the importance of establishing direct contacts both among experts from Europe and Central Asian countries, and between experts within the region. As noted during the conversation, foreign companies lack sufficiently complete and up-to-date information about the Central Asian region, which may create uncertainty in the implementation of international projects and the attraction of investment to the region.
The discussion touched upon the development of bilateral channels of cooperation between Kazakhstan and France, including access to the Kazakhstani market.
The both sides also discussed the prospects for the development of the Middle Corridor, Kazakhstan's logistical and financial potential in the region, and noted the need to strengthen transport and other economic ties.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop expert-level cooperation. The both sides expressed their readiness for constructive dialogue and noted their mutual interest in strengthening sustainable cooperation.
