Over the past two years, Astana Open Dialogue has established itself as one of Kazakhstan’s leading expert platforms, bringing together analytical research, open dialogue, and international engagement.
During this period, Astana Open Dialogue hosted three high-level discussion forums, bringing together more than 1,500 participants and 35 speakers. The discussions featured the Deputy Prime Minister, ministers, Members of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, members of the Presidential Council on AI Development, leading scholars, university rectors, analysts, and representatives of the expert community.
One of AOD’s key areas of work has been its expert surveys. Over the past two years, more than 350 expert assessments have been collected on issues of strategic importance to Kazakhstan and the wider region. These topics have ranged from the conflict in the Middle East and its implications for Kazakhstan to digital government, Central Asian integration, and the impact of tariff wars on the global economy.
Analytical research has also become a core component of AOD’s activities. Three editions of the Astana Open Dialogue Bulletin have been published, containing more than 100 recommendations across eight areas of analysis. Particular attention has been given to Kazakhstan’s international cooperation with the European Union, Italy, the countries of Central Asia, and other international partners.
Over the past two years, AOD has built strong partnerships with diplomatic missions, international organizations, and foreign think tanks and research institutions. This has enabled the platform to become not only a venue for discussion, but also an active participant in the broader international expert dialogue.
