Astana Open Dialogue hosted a meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden to Kazakhstan, Mr. Stefan Eriksson, and the Embassy's representative, Political and Trade Affairs Advisor, Mr. Ruslan Urazalinov.
The meeting was held in a working format and focused on discussing prospects for further cooperation.
During the discussion, the activities of Astana Open Dialogue were presented, including its analytical work, international initiatives, and expert engagement formats. Both sides emphasized the importance of fostering a high-quality dialogue between the government and society, as well as the role of independent analytical platforms in strengthening trust and enhancing transparency.
Particular attention was given to the development of Swedish–Kazakh cooperation. The parties expressed interest in exchanging analytical materials, expert contacts, and pursuing joint research initiatives. The Swedish side, in turn, highlighted the growing interest of Swedish businesses in the Kazakh market and the importance of expert support in expanding bilateral engagement.
Following the visit, both sides agreed to maintain regular dialogue and further develop partnership formats of cooperation.
