The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is an advisory body of the European Union, established in 1957 to represent the interests of various economic and social groups. The Committee provides recommendations on economic and social policy, which are forwarded to the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council of the EU. It represents the voice of civil society, including employers, trade unions, and other organizations, influencing the decision-making process within the EU. The EESC facilitates dialogue between civil society groups and EU institutions, ensuring that the interests of all social groups are taken into account in the Union's policies.
